Playing With Politics

A Blog on Law, Politics, Planning, Development, and Other Vices

What is Playing With Politics?

Growing up, if i could say that there was one piece of advice my parents constantly gave me it was “play the politics.”  It became somewhat of a family motto, as i can remember.  “Play the politics”, in a nutshell, means to do what you have to do, even if you sometimes don’t want to do it, to get things done.  It doesn’t have to be specific to politics and no, it doesn’t mean compromise your values.  Think of it as another way of saying “you gotta do what you gotta do.”

Now, this blog isn’t supposed to be about politics only, though it will likely have a lot of it.  I personally love politics.  If i could sprinkle it all over my Frosted Flakes in the morning, i would.  I describe myself as a left-leaning moderate Democrat and no doubt my positions in my authored posts will reflect that.

Also, some have asked “why did you start a blog?”  The answer to that is relatively simple.  I needed a platform to talk about issues.  So why not a blog?  If there’s one thing i’ve learned over the years its that i am a much better writer than I am a speaker.  So if I can express my views and inform people with my written vs. oral words, then i think it might be a good thing.

So please sit back and enjoy the read.
